My family and I spent six years in the great Northwest, so we tuned in tonight to cheer for the Seattle Seahawks. According to the number of Pittsburg fans in Detroit, we may have been the only three people in a 1,000 mile radius backing the Hawks from our living room sideline. We stuck with 'em to the end, then we all agreed that the Steelers deserved to win.
That said, all that's left to talk about are the commercials that cost advertisers a smooth 2.5 million per 30 seconds. For what it's worth, here were my top three picks:
- Ameriquest: Hospital (tied right up there with Ameriquest: Flight, but I can't admit to anyone how much I laughed. I hate it when that happens. The laughing at funny, but oh, my...)
- Michelob: Tackle (Yes, I admit it - when the blond went down, I laughed hard, backed up the commercial and watched it again!)
- Bud Light: Camping (I have friends who would have done the same thing to me - grabbed the bottle and ran)
(Check out all the commercials here)
Although ABC's Lost commercials didn't make my top three list, it's worth noting that ABC capitlized on momentum to both celebrate and pull more viewers. Smart leadership move.
After that, the commercials could have been shown during the 5 o'clock news. And they probably will be.
Fun night for the Waltz family, though - junk food, too much pop and some great connecting, laughing at commercial time.
