A prayer for our 14-year-old, Olivia.
God, today Liv starts high school. High school. There are
high school boys there. Senior boys. I started this prayer for Olivia, but I
need the help. Help me continue to trust you with her. And, really I know I can.
I’m confident she’s good in your hands. And I trust her. She’s learning great
responsibility, building helpful friendships, and showing insightful discernment.
Still God, today help her…
- know how much she matters – to you … and to us (Laura and me)
- be aware of your presence in her day
- engage her place, her mission inside your story; be the person you created her to be
- carry a sense of significance that gives her rich confidence and purpose
- laugh loudly… at appropriate times
- make new friends
- live out the value that other people matter to you… and to her
- see you all over the place today
- live out Jesus
- be safe… protect her from senior boys and mean girls
- build great memories that launch her into tomorrow with strength and joy
