Getting Ready to Shift Gears

The past 2 weekends we've rolled out some of the most exciting change around Granger Community in a longJourneybibleclasses_4 time. Granted, no change surpasses life change. And those continue across the life of our church all the time. But, we're shifting gears to address a changing culture - people who want to experience the supernatural, who aren't afraid of spiritual experiences; and provide more onramps for our people to engage the Bible - renewing our minds, transforming our hearts, and utilizing our hands in action.

Listen or watch to the most recent service here.

I love that our people will have opportunity to:

  • make personal choices from a limited menu about their next step on their spiritual journey
  • engage the Bible journey in relationship with their friends, family, and/or group
  • get qualified teaching ...without getting all the answers (The journey is ongoing. I'm hoping people leave every class session hungry and energized for the pursuit of God!)
  • explore these classes in very short-term fashion, while still able to be an a class every month if they choose to do so
  • address their apparent doubts about:
    • the scandalous grace of God
    • the authority of the scriptures
    • the eternal reality of our existence
    • the priority the adventure with God must have over materialistic pursuits
  • re-invent themselves based on God's created purpose for his world and their lives
  • commit themselves as fully devoted followers with informed decisions, selfless love of others, and a souled-out, relentless love for God

I'll post the new line-up of Journey Bible Classes here on Friday morning this week.

By the way, I expect I'll grow too.
