A few months ago I told several people that the only way we'd ever consider moving our Elkhart multisite from our more than adequate space at the RV/MH Hall of Fame would be because all three of the following criteria were met:
- We'd go from a one-day a week meeting space to a 24-7 physical building usage.
- We'd pay little to no more for such space than we are currently at the Hall of Fame.
- This space would be nestled in a densely populated neighborhood community.
I really wasn't trying to paint an impossible scenario; I really couldn't imagine such an arrangement would ever come true. I wasn't trying to put a Gideon-type fleece out, daring God to do the impossible. Nor was I honestly praying for this kind of open door.
Call me faithless. Call me a dare devil. Call me surprised, for sure.
Through the unexpected generosity and vision of St. John's United Church of Christ these three "criteria" have been met and more. All three. Boom. Done. Amazing. [If you've missed what I'm talking about, read more here.]
So, we're rolling up our sleeves, dilently being responsible stewards of this kingdom outpost we are now charged with. Check out some pics of the early work over the past couple Saturdays by our servants at GCC-Elkhart.
